AGRECO-Equivalency-Standard (AES)

All inspection and certification activities in third countries are conducted acc. to the AGRECO Equivalency-Standard (AES).

The AES consists of two parts, each following the respective legislation:

Part I represents the BASIC Rules and makes reference to the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 834/2007

Part II represents the IMPLEMENTING RULES and makes reference to the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 889/2008

 

Please note: Any changes made to COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 834/2007 or COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 889/2008 will be evaluated by AGRECO in order to take a decision with view to the activities in Third Countries. .

According to the following categories, a modification of the EU legislation on organic agriculture will be included in the AGRECO Equivalency Standard –AES and may be found:

C = compliant (beeing binding in compliant form) 

C-A = compliance adopted  (beeing binding in an adopted form)

E = equivalent  (beeing binding in an equivalent form)

N/A = not applicable in Third countries  (beeing not relevant for an application in Third Countries)

Please note: There were changes in the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 889/2008 concerning the feed of pigs and poultry as well as substances to be used in organic apiculture. These changes have been evaluated and found to be binding in a compliant form in the AES from 11. November 2018 on. The respective Regulation can be found here.

There were further changes in the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 889/2008 concerning the annexes. These changes have been evaluated and found to be binding in a compliant form in the AES from 07. January 2020 on. The respective Regulation can be found here.
